Apple’s new releases for their iPhone models include the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus. These were introduced together with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which are the more premium models.

iPhone 14

The TELUS iPhone 14 is available in 2 sizes: 6.1 and 6.7 inches, with the latter size being that of the iPhone 14 Plus. iPhone 14 is reminiscent of the iPhone 13 because of the aluminum casing, flat edges, and glass backside. The glass makes it possible to charge the phone wirelessly.

What makes the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus better than the iPhone 13 is the camera and other enhancements. The TrueDepth camera of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus has Super Retina XDR OLED displays which can support a lot of features such as True Tone, Dolby Vision, and great brightness and contrast ratio. Unlike the standard iPhone 14 phones, the iPhone Pro has a ProMotion display feature.

Similar to the iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 14 also has the A15 chip. The only difference is the improved internal structure that gives it a boosted thermal performance. This chip also has a 5-core GPU, a 6-core CPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Because of the sturdy Ceramic Shield, the front display of the iPhone is safe from damage such as dropping or bumping it. IP68 water resistance is another great feature of the iPhone 14. It can last for 30 minutes in 6-meter-deep water.

iPhone 14 Camera Specification

Another upgrade is the 12-megapixel Wide camera with a bigger sensor. It performs better in low light because of the bigger 1.9 µm pixels and ƒ/1.5 aperture. There’s also a sensor-shift optical image stabilization feature. Though the Ultra-Wide lens remains the same, the TrueDepth camera has an updated ƒ/1.9 aperture. All iPhone 14 cameras come with the Photonic Engine for better photography in low light.

The Photonic Engine has better features in low light because of the hardware and software combination. These features can be seen on the Ultra-Wide camera, TrueDepth camera, and Wide camera. The Photonic Engine also upgrades Deep Fusion so there will be intense details and better color, but slight textures.

The video has improved image stabilization because of the smooth performance of the Action mode. Even while recording an action shot, this mode can adapt to the movement, vibrations, and shaking. The Cinematic mode has been upgraded as well. The lighting is more consistent and uniform because the True Tone flash is 10% brighter.

Similar to the iPhone 13, the iPhone 14 has 5G connectivity. It also utilizes an updated Qualcomm X65 modem. iPhone 14 series supports physical SIM cards in addition to an eSIM.

iPhone 14 Battery

The TELUS has better battery life. Compared to the iPhone 13, its battery can last for an hour more. Because it’s bigger, the iPhone 14 Plus has a longer battery life. When you watch videos, the iPhone can last for 20 hours before it requires charging. iPhone 14 Plus, on the other hand, can last for 26 hours when watching videos.

The iPhone 14 can also measure up to 256Gs because of the dual-core accelerometer. Emergency contact services can be contacted right away thanks to the accelerometer and the Crash Detection feature of the gyroscope power.

If you have serious injuries and can’t use your phone, other sensors are used to activate this feature. These sensors can activate the barometer for changes in cabin pressure, GPS for sudden speed changes, and the mic for vehicle crashing sounds.

Through the satellite, Apple was able to incorporate Emergency SOS. This is a feature that makes it possible for iPhone 14 phones to directly contact satellites for communication in case of an emergency and if there’s no cell or Wifi signal available. So, messages can be sent even if you’re in a remote area. This feature works in open places that don’t have a lot of trees.

iPhone 14 Storage Capacity

The iPhone 14 is available in different storage capacities. You can avail it in 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. You can charge it using MagSafe or a fast-charging Lightning cable. Bluetooth 5.3 and WIFI 6 are supported by the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

Although the iPhone 14 models still share some similarities with the previous model, the newer features make upgrading worth it. From battery life to TELUS phone specs to camera quality and even miscellaneous features such as an Emergency SOS give the iPhone 14 models an edge.  With these new updates, the iPhone experience has never been better.
